ABOUT

I have worked in social service settings with children and families for over 15 years. Throughout those years, I operated a daycare and worked closely with children and families; as well, I was an Intensive Behavioural Intervention Therapist in a specialized treatment classroom for children with ASD and a Child and Youth Worker in group homes for children with behavioural and emotional challenges. These experiences have provided me with a unique understanding of the needs of parents, children, and the dynamics between couples and families.

I believe our work should be collaborative, and I will approach our relationship from a compassionate, non judgmental perspective. I maintain a strong focus on the hierarchy of needs and acknowledge that most of us have a strong desire for acceptance and belonging.

Beginning with a psychodynamic approach, we will uncover overarching themes and create healing experiences. Additionally, we will utilize cognitive behavioural therapy to help you understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations and how these various interactions can limit or benefit your everyday experiences. Narrative Therapy will help us understand the stories that have shaped your reality and a solution-focused approach will uncover your inherent strengths and help us develop unique strategies and solutions just for you.

I am comfortable with in-person, virtual, and phone sessions and find that each medium has benefits
and limitations.

I use a holistic, conversational approach and believe that you are the one leading this journey, I am
just holding the flashlight.
